FAQ - frequently asked question

An error appears during batch registration. Why?

The cause of most batch registration errors is most likely one of the following:

A discrepancy between the CSV file and the information already inside the system.

It is essential that the data fields included in the CSV file match those required by the system, in order and content. For example, if the CSV file contains the data fields [email address, name, address phone number...], and the BLAYNMAIL registration form requires [email address,name,occupation...], this discrepancy will cause an error during the batch registration process.

To make batch registration easier, please use the button in the batch registration page of the administration screen, in order to register formatted data into the system. Please make sure that all the data fields in the CSV file exactly match the fields in the BLAYNMAIL subscriber registration form that you have customized.

Incorrectly formatted email address

If any of the email addresses contain any full-width characters or blank spaces,
an error will occur. Please take care when manually inputting email addresses.

CSV file data which has been saved with a character code other than UTF-8

When using CSV files to transfer data into the BLAYNMAIL system, please use the character code called
"UTF-8". Failure to do so will result in an error.

The use of Chinese characters (called 'kanji' in Japanese) or other characters which are not supported by BLAYNMAIL.

An error will occur if characters which are not supported by BLAYNMAIL are used in the CSV file.

Please refer here to see a list of supported characters.

Some data disappears when using Excel

Some versions of Excel produce an error where some information is deleted if the far right field of the 16th line remains blank.

If this error occurs within Excel, you will see the following error message when you try to perform a batch registration using the CSV file: the item does not match.

This problem can be avoided by ensuring that the field at the far right side of line 16 does not remain blank by typing a [ . ] (period) into it.
