Error Processing

Have you ever received an error notification email telling you that the email you have just sent had failed to be delivered?

This occurs when, for some reason, there was a transmission error and your email could not reach its destination. The error notification is the server attempting to let you know about the problem.

A delivery failure may be due to many reasons. Here are some of the most common:

  • The destination email address has changed.
  • There is an unauthorized character included in the email address in the 'Send to' field.
  • The destination email account is full and needs to be cleaned out.
  • The destination email server is temporarily down.

Normally these error emails are administered manually. However, when the number destination addresses for a given email is in the hundreds or more, verifying which emails were delivered and which were not becomes an enormous task, which takes up a lot of time..

BLAYNMAIL has the ability to track the number of failed deliveries for each email address over time. When the value of this count exceeds a certain number, BLAYNMAIL will automatically stop all deliveries to that email address.

Function Details

  1. The number of failed delivery attempts to an address before all deliveries to it are stopped can be set from 1 to 5.
  2. When the number of failed delivery attempts exceeds the number that was set, all deliveries to this email are automatically put on hold.
  3. It is possible to produce a list of all email addresses that were put on hold due to non-delivery. Using that list , it is simple to make a batch deletion of these email addresses from the system.
